When His disciples asked Jesus how they should pray, this is how He answered them. When we pray this prayer, we are connecting ourselves with the generations of Christians who have prayed this same prayer, just as the disciples of Christ prayed it, thousands of years ago. May you find unity and a sense of connectivity with all those around the world who find comfort in the “daily bread” that God provides.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
Amen.
