Isaiah 43:1 reminds me of the beautiful way that God loves us, rescues us from the things that enslave us and knows us each by name. May you find comfort in the God who loves you and knows you by name...

“But now, this is what the Lord says,
He who created you, O Jacob,
He who formed you, O Israel,
‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you.
I have called you by name,
You are mine.’”

    introduction...
In these videos, I demonstrate some of the prayer vinyasas that I’ve taught in class. A vinyasa is a sequence of poses, so a prayer vinyasa is a sequence of poses coordinated with a prayer or verse of scripture. It’s my hope that these vinyasas will provide an opportunity for you to draw close to God and listen for the voice of the Divine within you...

    Disclaimer:
These poses and sequences are just suggestions. Please listen to your own body and proceed carefully. What do they always say? Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program, okay? Blessings on your journey...

“The use of the body in prayer...is a way of deepening our life of prayer. Just as nonverbal communication relies on gestures, tone of voice, and speed of speaking to reinforce our words, physical acts extend the meaning of our worded prayers. Physical movement and meaningful postures indicate more fully what is on the heart of the person who is offering prayers to God...In this process the mind comes under the reign of the body... and we experience a genuine connectedness between what we do and what we think.” - Doug Pagitt in Body Prayer
